
Iranian media reported that an Israeli drone was shot down in a central part of the country, releasing video of the damaged UAV on Wednesday, June 18.
IRIB News said the Hermes 900 drone was shot down east of Isfahan.
Footage released by IRIB showed the drone falling out of the sky and the damaged drone on the ground. In the video, an IRIB correspondent points to parts of the drone where Hebrew is seen.
Israel later confirmed that a Hermes medium-range UAV had crashed in Iran. The IDF said an investigation had been launched into whether the downing of the drone was intentional or due to a technical malfunction.
The Hermes 900 is equipped with a variety of sensors allowing it to detect ground or maritime targets, and is developed for medium-altitude tactical missions, according to its maker Elbit Systems.
